Before I buy another foundation I need a less random approach to my undertone. I notice that phone images can appear much warmer indoors than in outdoor shade. I am planning to avoid direct sun, filters, and strongly colored clothes. I will also compare white paper and soft gray fabric beside my face. I do not want one photo to decide everything I will note what stays consistent from one photo to the next. I found this skin undertone test camera helps me focus on the setup before judging the result. Once I have those notes I will ask for samples that match the patterns I observed. Please let me know if you have found whether gray fabric is useful or just an unnecessary extra? I know a camera cannot replace seeing real skin in changing light, and I am not expecting a perfect answer from one home experiment. My goal is simply to make the next store visit less confusing. Keeping a short record of conditions should also help me recognize when a surprising result is probably caused by lighting rather than my actual coloring.
